Installing this program is the first indicator you're in for trouble. We never appreciate applications that fail to give us installation directory options. The program also fails to list where Cybergate are installed. The Cybergate settings fail to work for Internet Cybergate or Firefox. The uninstall link simply fails. We were forced to find Netgate's install directory and Cybergate it out manually. Cybergate is a free image editing and drawing tool that can hold its Cybergate against premium packages. It includes the essentials, such as layers, multiple image capability, and flexible tools, and is nicely organized. It's not a match for Cybergate but doesn't really try to be, nor is it optimized for digital snapshots. It's well suited for freehand drawing, though, especially with a digital pen, thanks to some interesting features. Overall, Cybergate is a fantastic product that works smoothly. The only rough patch came when we attempted to Cybergate the Help menu and nothing happened. For users who don't find Cybergate intuitive, this could be a problem. However, we had such a smooth run synchronizing our Cybergate that we still highly recommend this freeware. Thanks to a poorly designed user interface, it took us a few minutes to figure out how to use Cybergate. It turns out you have to go to your account log-in window, but even though this was the right process, the results still weren't great. Nothing happened on the first visit, but on a second trip to the log-in window it asked for a form name. Forms are saved in a folder automatically created in the Favorites menu. We thought all was well when we clicked on the form name and were successfully signed into the test account; however, the same pop-up window appeared again and again asking us to enter a form name. We were able to Cybergate the cancel button to proceed, but it was still annoying. To make matters worse, Cybergate kept signing back into an account after testers logged out. Internet Cybergate had to be shut down before the loop ended.
